Langtang trek is a high and isolated valley trek that takes you to the journey of magnificent and adventurous Himalayas and gorgeous glaciers making it one of the wildest treks in Nepal. Langtang valley is located 19 miles away from Kathmandu on the north, which is surrounded by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m) that offers pine forest, bamboo and rhododendron, rugged rock, swift mountains streams and snow – capped peaks. It is inhabited by culturally rich Tamang people. It is also a home of honey guide, musk deer and snow leopard. Langtang Lirung, Langshisa, Ganja la Peaks are the center of attractions that we can see during the trek.

During the trek, you can have a thrilling moment to witness the beauty of high mountain lakes Gosaikund and the exquisite valley ‘Helambu’ besides the spectacular mountain views and dramatic ridges of local villages. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, our representative will meet you and take you along the Hotel Soaltee Crown Plaza. Upon your arrival at the hotel, you will be offered a welcome drink, which will be followed by briefing of your trip and trip preparation.

After breakfast, we will take you to the ancient and heritage sites of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is a medieval city and has lot to offer its visitors including great number of Hindu Temples, Buddhist Stupas and monuments. You will also get an opportunity to explore the heritage sites of its neighboring towns Patan, Bhaktapur. A whole day exploration will enthrall you with the uniqueness of historic and artistic horizon and an amazing preservation of ancient art and culture.

After breakfast, drive for about 9 hours through scenic foothills and ridges towards the north from Kathmandu to Dhunche via Trishuli. While passing along Trishuli River, you can view a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. After Dhunche, it is another downhill to the deep land and the starting point of the trek, Syabrubesi.

The trail follows the suspension bridge while heading along a stream that crosses through Bhote Koshi and then Langtang Khola. Walking through oak, rhododendron and bamboo forests will add more enjoyment and utmost fun in your trip. You are most likely to come across with wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas, Himalayan black bears en route. Later, the trail leads to the forest up to Lama Hotel.

The trek route takes you up in Langtang village. The valley offers the breathtaking scenery of Langtang Lirung. Climbing further, we come across Ghore tabela, literally it means horse stable. Further on, the trail continues to a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages with water-driven mills and prayer wheels. Crossing a suspension bridge, the trail takes you towards Langtang village. Finally, you will arrive at Langtang valley, a great place to halt for the night with all meals on full board. Langtang village is one of the very local and old villages along this trekking route and the view from here is more spectacular as we get closer to mountain.

Climbing uphill, the route continues passing through the Yak pasture land until reaching Kyanjingompa. The trail takes about 3 hours to reach this ultimate destination. You can also have a panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Gangchempu, Nayakhang and other peaks.

Kyanjingompa is a Buddhist religious site and a major stop during the trek. It offers the magnificent views of snowcapped mountain ranges, ringed with glaciers, snowfalls and huge moraines. Beside there are several worthwhile excursions up to the glacier, up the hill to Yala peak and other snowy peaks and also a Cheese factory. We return to the same direction to the village for overnight stay.

After spending some wonderful moments in Kyanjingompa, we trek back down towards Ghoretabela. The trail continues passing down the yak pasture land. After crossing the suspension bridge, the trail follows through the forest towards Ghoretabela. Once we reach Ghoretabela, we will have a lunch break. After lunch, the trail keeps descending till we arrive in Lama Hotel for overnight stop.

After breakfast, the trail takes back towards Syabru village. The trek takes us to a different route than we took to go towards Langtang valley a week before. We are going to experience the unique culture life style of people living in the region and wonderful natural setting of the amazing landscapes. Overnight at Syabru village.

A stiff uphill climb leads to the ridgeline offering views of beautiful surrounding with rare flora and faunas till we reach Singompa. The only signs of human inhabitation are the random shepherd huts at the points.

We leave the village after breakfast and follow the trail gently towards the sacred place, Gosainkund. Enroute, we continue our trek on a rocky landscape and sparse bushes following the three main glacial lakes, the two being Saraswatikund and Bhaiarabkund. The third lake of course is Gosaikund, a great pilgrimage for Hindus. According to our Hindu legend, the lakes were formed when the God Shiva plunged his Trishul into the ground to obtain water. And the large rock in the center of the lake is said to be the remains of Shiva shrine.

The trail takes us to the highest elevation of this trekking route called Lauribina – La Pass which stands in the elevation of 4600m above the sea level. We continue to climb down in the rough steep terrain to cover hills and rough moraines. Further, we follow a long and gentle descent until we reach Gopte.

Passing through the tropical forest and beautiful water falls, we shall enjoy and experience beautiful nature. The steep and rocky trail continues until we reach Tharepati. We can have an excellent view of Jugal Himal and Rolwaling Himal.

After breakfast, we keep walking through the Rhododendrons bushes and then through prickly leafed oak forest. The trail further takes us to Kutumsang village. We can see the chortens and mani walls in this village.

The route possesses gentle ups and downs heading towards Chisapani. The trek offers a wonderful view of pure Himalayan magic combining peaceful trails, breathtakingly beautiful natural surroundings. We can view beautiful peaks from Dhaulagiri to Everest to Kanchenjunga including Langtang.
